About Luuk:
Luuk holds a degree in Theatre Studies and Comparative Cultural Analysis from the University of Amsterdam. He is a talented comedian and won the Audience Award at the 2017 Groninger Student Cabaret Festival and both the Jury and Audience Awards at the 2020 Amsterdam Student Cabaret Festival.
After over 300 performances, Luuk transitioned to teaching but found the traditional system lacked creative freedom, sparking his passion for education. As a historical guide, he shares the stories of the Dutch republic, free market, monarchy, bikes, WWII, Anne Frank, emancipation, and migration with tourists and newcomers.
Through over 1500 tours, Luuk realized that artistic expression is inherently social. He uses history to explain contemporary society. His latest project, The Story of the NL: A Comedy Lecture, marks the start of his career as a comedy educator, combining comedy, history, and teaching to inspire others while promoting autonomy, high expectations, and fun in his lectures.
