Dual Career Program for partners
WCFV helps your international employee’s partner find a suitable job through our Dual Career Program
Welcome Center Food Valley ensures that expats can get work in the Food Valley region. Unfortunately, it is common for them to return to their home country early. A frequently cited reason for this is that their partner does not feel at home in the Netherlands. The consequence is that your search for an employee begins anew.
To prevent this, the Dual Career Program was developed. We assist partners from expats in finding suitable employment. A career helps one become part of society and feel at home in a new environment more quickly. Moreover, it helps your (future) colleague start their new job with confidence.

The Dual Career Program takes place a few times a year. The next program starts: October 15, 2025. For registration: please contact

“It was super helpful to have the chance to discuss with the other participants and the program leaders about what they are doing, gain insights into what works in the job search, and how to tailor an approach to finding a job in an international context.
I left the program feeling motivated and well-equipped to stand out in what can be a crowded job market.”

“
I’m very happy to share that I’m starting a new professional journey at the De Vrije Slag swimming pool, through the company ZwemNetwerk! It’s a joy to be back working in the area I love, contributing to the safety and well-being of people in the pool. I have a degree in Physical Education and years of experience working as a swimming teacher in Brazil, especially with babies and young children.
I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to Wageningen University and the Welcome Center Food Valley for the excellent workshop I attended.
It was essential in helping me prepare and secure this job opportunity. Looking forward to new learning experiences, challenges, and many positive moments!

“The interactive training provided valuable insights into the Dutch culture and labor market, equipping us with the essential knowledge for both cultural integration and employment in the Netherlands.
The session covered cultural aspects like Dutch social norms and values, calendar, weather, and work-life balance. Practical tips for job searching such as CV writing, networking, use of online platforms in the job market, and proactive approach to job search, all tailored to Dutch employer’s expectations, were discussed.
Special thanks to Dual Career Program, the organizers, and also to the workshop leader Tammy Maduro for equipping us with the necessary tools to navigate this period of adaptation.“
