Are you not yet a recognized sponsor?

Steps that can be completed

1

Recognition as a sponsor

When you want to hire an expat for the first time, you must demonstrate to the IND that you meet certain requirements.

Does your new employee come from outside European Union, EEA or Switzerland? Then your organization must become an recognised sponsor. The advantage of this is that procedures are often faster and more efficient. For the foreign worker, this means a more streamlined immigration process.

2

Residence permit

To qualify for residency, your new employee must meet a number of conditions.

We check whether the general conditions for expats as well as the additional conditions for highly skilled migrants are met. We then submit the application for a residence permit for the knowledge migrant and, if desired, for his or her family members as well.

3

Visa

Whether a visa is required depends on the nationality of the knowledge migrant.

Your new employee will receive from us all the necessary information to apply for a visa.

Among other things, we check:
What is the nationality of your new employee?
Does your new employee meet the conditions of a residence permit for a knowledge migrant?
Is a visa required?
Are any other conditions applicable?

4

Family

Does your new employee have a partner, and perhaps children? And do you want to bring the knowledge migrant together with his or her family to the Netherlands?

Family members of a highly skilled migrant must also meet a number of conditions and have a valid residence permit.

How we help bring your employee’s family to the Netherlands:

  • We verify that all family members meet the requirements.
  • We take care of the application for a residence permit.
  • We provide advice on applying for visas for family members (if necessary).
  • We provide information on topics such as financial matters, insurance, education and training, and Dutch laws and regulations.

5

Biometric data

Is your new employee coming to the Netherlands from outside the EU without a visa? Then the IND needs biometric data to issue a residence permit.

After arriving in the Netherlands, your new employee can quickly get to the IND. They have a counter at our in-house. Among other things, expats are helped here to apply for residence permits.

6

Registration with the municipality

Every resident of the Netherlands must have a citizen service number (BSN). So do expats.

The municipality also has its own counter with us.
We are happy to make an appointment for your new employees so they can register with the municipality. The BSN is therefore provided immediately.
Your new employee will need this number, among other things, when opening a bank account and purchasing insurance.

7

Welcome to the region, way to the Netherlands

Once the necessary formalities are completed, we will invite your employee and his family for an interview.

During this interview, we welcome the knowledge migrant to the region and provide information that will help him or her get started in the Netherlands.

8

A fine home and care for the family

We also take these concerns off your hands so your new employee can focus on work.

It can be complicated for a company or organization to bring a foreign employee to the Netherlands. The Welcome Center Food Valley has the knowledge and experience to make this process run smoothly and ensure “Happy landing & living.

If a company allows an employee to come to the Netherlands, it must show the IND that it is a reliable partner. This is called: ‘recognised sponsor‘. We can help you with the one-time procedure required to do so.

What documents are needed for the immigration process is often different for each situation. Consider a residence permit, a visa, or a work permit. We identify what documents are needed, review the requirements and submit the application.

In many cases, an employee brings along partner and children. They too must have the necessary papers.

In a welcome meeting, we discuss what issues are important. Consider insurance, GP, public transport travel, and so on. Even after the interview, we remain available for questions.

The IND has its own desk at the Welcome Center Food Valley, so the expat can receive the residence permit right away. The necessary biometric data can also be taken here.

The municipality of Wageningen also has its own counter with us. The expat can pick up the requested Citizen Service Number right there. Convenient, because it is needed to get to work. And for banking and insurance, for example.

We do more than just paperwork. For example, we offer support in finding a nice home, a suitable school for the children and a suitable job for the partner.

Thus, the Food Valley Welcome Center ensures a happy landing as well as happy living!

We can take the entire process off your hands as a total package. But it is also possible to have only specific matters handled by us. Please feel free to contact us to discuss options and rates.
